The St Stephen Aces have traded Curtis Hastings and Lucas Mckay to the Miramichi Timberwolves.
In return the Aces acquired 99 Forward Doug D’Arnall and 99 forward Keegan Gauthier.
Doug was selected in the first round by the Miramichi Timberwolves in this years MHL draft and is also a draft pick of the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL. Keegan Gauthier was selected in the 2nd round the 2015 MHL draft and is a draft pick of the Bathurst Titan of the QMJHL.
“These are 2 young forwards that play with speed and urgency” We feel this is an element that is missing from our game”. We are expecting Doug and Keegan to step into our line up and create the spark we are looking for.” Both players are products of the NS Midget AAA Macs which is a very good midget program. We got very good reviews on both players from people in NS and are really looking forward to them joining us.”Both kids are very hungry and excited to step into our lineup and help us turn this team into a playoff contender”.
“In order for us to acquire these two players obviously we had to give up some big pieces. Curtis and Lucas have been good players for us the last three years and are part of the original Aces Group.
“As an organization we have had some tough luck this year but are not content where we are in the standings. We still feel and believe we will be a playoff team this year and that is what we are striving for”.
“I believe this will be the spark our team needs to help us move up in the standings. We have been close in a lot of games, but close does not give us wins and that is what we are here to do”. “I don’t think we have been playing with the passion that represents St Stephen. We get amazing fan support every game and we are committed to putting the best product on the ice. We need to have players that play with pride and passion and will give 110% effort night in and night out”.
