Elmsville – In an exclusive interview with Transportation Minister Bill Fraser late this afternoon, The Saint Croix Courier was told an engineering report was received by the minister earlier today, with recommendations on how to repair the McGuire Covered Bridge in Elmsville, and restore the transportation link to that community.

Fraser confirmed the bridge would be restored, not replaced. He said he expects work to begin on the ground within the next few weeks and anticipates the bridge to be re-opened by the spring. A ball park figure for the repair costs is between $200,000 and $300,000 said Fraser.

For the complete story on the repairs see Tuesday’s Courier newspaper.
