Crash of car, semi, result in minor injuries only - Feb. 04, 2014

Old Ridge
A highway collision a few kilometres outside St. Stephen close to midday on Monday could have ended much worse.
A Saturn passenger car headed north on Route 3 began to make a left turn into a driveway at Old Ridge at 11:50 a.m., RCMP Const. Mark Walsh said at the scene. The car crossed into the path of a southbound transport truck, headed for St. Stephen. The truck driver veered right but the bumper of the 18-wheeled tractor trailer caught the front driverís-side corner of the smaller vehicle, turning it 180 degrees, end for end. The truck came to a stop with the trailer in the ditch but the cab, still attached, on the road at an odd angle.
The drivers were checked at the hospital for minor injuries but walked away, Walsh said.
