Civic centre commission meetings closed to the public - Mar. 19, 2014

Members of the public cannot attend the meetings of the Garcelon Civic Center Advisory Commission.
Coun. Marg Harding asked civic centre manager Natalie Reid at Wednesday nightís council meeting if residents could attend the commissionís meetings.
Reid told Harding and council the commissionís meetings are closed and members of the public cannot attend.
The commission - chair Lynn Burns, and members Kevin Thiessen, Bob Coates, Brian Cornish, Joe Peters, Monica Gillmor and Heather Estey Ė were appointed for a three-year term which expires Jan. 31, 2017.
The role of the commission is to advise and provide recommendations to the manager of the civic centre on an efficient and economical means to deliver on the mandate of the civic centre and the capital maintenance of the facility.
The commission will also make recommendations to the town council which council may approve, amend, refer or propose other resolutions as council deems appropriate.
