Canada Day celebrations planned for St. George - Jun. 27, 2014

Canada Day celebrations will be held at Magaguadavic Place from 10 a.m. until noon Tuesday.
Following opening remarks by master of ceremonies Charlie Norman there will be a prayer by Pastor Jason Hooper from St. George Baptist Church then the flag raising by members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 40 (St. George).
“O Canada” will be led by Carol Harris and guest speakers will be New Brunswick Southwest MP John Williamson, Charlotte-The Isles MLA Rick Doucet and Mayor Sharon Tucker then the Citizen of the Year award will be presented.
Other activities during the day will be a teddy bear clinic, face painting and finger printing for the children, a barbecue put on by the Community Living Centre with hot dogs, pop, water and cupcakes as well as live entertainment by Bernice Vatoure.
