The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is on tour in a big pink bus. The distinct looking vehicle is travelling Atlantic Canada this summer educating the public on Breast cancer awareness. A few of the ladies from Sobeys took a few minutes to see the bus on Friday. Pam Bradford (left), Sherry Dow, Angie McLean and Melissa Audet are guided by Caitlin Phillips and Caet Moir.

ST. STEPHEN There was a big pink vehicle rolling around town last week.
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Tour for the Cure was in the area promoting breast cancer awareness.
The specially modified bus will make stops at 183 towns in the four Atlantic Provinces this spring and summer.
The idea for the bus came from British Columbia where the provincial chapter put information kiosks in malls.
It is easier to take a bus to small communities in Atlantic Canada than it is to set up mall kiosks, said Caet Moir who is travelling with the tour.
This is the second year for the tour, and the bus was making stops at Ganongs and Sobeys, two of its major sponsors. Atlantic Lottery and CIBC also support the tour.
Last year about 10,000 people viewed the displays on the bus, and with a good response so far, the team expects similar numbers this year.
St. Stephen has been one of our busier stops. Lots of enthusiasm. Lots of energetic people.
The message the bus is delivering is clear.
We want every woman to book a mammogram.
Women in New Brunswick between the ages of 50 and 69 do not need a doctor's referral to have a mammogram, and should be going yearly for an exam.
It is important to note that not just women get breasts cancer. Although the rates for men are much lower, men should be doing self-checks for lumps on a regular basis. If you detect a lump, consult a physician.
The bus will be on the road until August 14.
