Park rezoning to get first reading Monday - May. 14, 2010

ST. STEPHEN – The regular May town council meeting will not be held at town hall this month but at the St. Stephen Legion on Queen Street.
The move is to allow for the expected public turnout during the 6 p.m. public presentation relating to an amendment to the municipal plan as it relates to the proposal for rezoning of Granville Park.
The council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. During that meeting a motion will be presented for the first reading of a proposed rezoning for Granville Park on Prince William Street.
Disher Enterprises and Hills Point Holdings Limited have made a rezoning application to have the town-owned Granville Park rezoned from park to integrated development to allow for the construction of a 30-unit seniors’ residence.
The town’s chief administrative officer (CAO), John Ferguson, said public comments during next week’s council meeting will be entertained and that the public will be given 30 days to respond in writing to the first reading of the proposed rezoning.
