RCMP make numerous drunk driving arrests - Jun. 15, 2010

ST. STEPHEN — Seven motorists are facing impaired driving charges following arrests made over a five day period between June 9 and June 13 in various areas of Charlotte County.
The seven are scheduled to appear in court in August.
RCMP Cst. Mark Walsh said the police have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to drunk and aggressive drivers.
Walsh said the incidents involved three motor vehicles crashes, including one in a stolen vehicle, and four other motor vehicle offences
On June 9 at approximately 12:50 a.m., RCMP conducted a traffic stop in Beaver Harbour where officers arrested a 21-year old.
On June 10 at approximately 8:50 pm, RCMP conducted a traffic stop in St. George where a 30-year-old male driver was arrested.
On June 12 after responding to a single vehicle accident at approximately 8:39 a.m. on Route 760 in Oak Bay, RCMP arrested a 22-year-old female driver at the scene.
On June 12 at approximately 7:10 p.m., RCMP responded to an off-road vehicle collision in Mohannes. Upon the officers‚ arrival, the 42-year-old male driver attempted to flee on his all-terrain vehicle but was quickly apprehended and charged.
RCMP conducting a traffic stop in St. George on June 13 at approximately 1:12 a.m. arrested a 23-year-old male driver.
A vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on June 13 at approximately 2:42 a.m. drew the attention of the RCMP. The vehicle was stopped at Kerrs Ridge and a 40-year-old female driver was arrested.
On June 13 at approximately 3:30 a.m., RCMP observed a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle accelerated from the area quickly and crashed into a tunnel in St. George. As a result, a youth was arrested and further investigation revealed the vehicle the youth was driving was stolen.
