Rainfall warning in effect for southern NB

Charlotte County – A rainfall warning is in effect for southern New Brunswick, which, combined by the possibility of double digit temperatures and frozen ground unable to absorb run off, could pose a flooding and ice jam hazard for many areas of the region.

Environment Canada warning preparedness meteorologist Claude Cote said this morning rainfall amounts will be in the range of 50-80 mm with the potential of more than 100 mms along the Fundy coast.

The rain is expected to change to freezing rain over the northern portion of the province Friday night.

The forecast is showing the main area of freezing precipitation has moved farther south but it is not yet known if this will affect Charlotte County.
