Floyd William Sanders, 83, of Charlotte, Maine, died Sept. 14, 2018 at a medical facility in Bangor due to complications from a lifelong battle with diabetes.
He is survived by sons, Shawn Sanders of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Stacy Sanders and wife Mary, of Limerick; a daughter, Ann Booth and husband Frank, of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Dakota Charles York of Charlotte and Randa-Lynn Roberta York (aka – Andi Claire Seeley), of Machias; a step-grandson, Robert Booth and fiancée Mikayla, of Bucksport; a brother, Roland Sanders and wife Wilda, of Ottawa, Ontario; a sister, Loraine Nason and husband Art, of Fredericton, NB; brother-in-law, Fred Huntress, of Poland Springs; sister-in-law, Eleanor Hatton, of Calais; several cousins, nieces and nephews, and five special friends, Ella Acheson, of St. Stephen, NB, Cory J. York, of North Carolina, Peggy White, of Topsfield, and Britney Taggett and son Rowan, of Carmel.
He is predeceased by his loving wife of 37 years, Evelyn May (Hatton) Sanders; his father, Rudolph (Bud) Stephen Sanders; his mother, Anna Matilda (Johnson) Sanders; sister, Shirley Huntress, and brother-in-law, Kent Calhoun.
He enjoyed many hobbies and activities over the years, including painting/drawing, playing guitar, figure skating, dancing, gardening and baking pies. He enjoyed attending services at Calais United Methodist Church and senior citizens groups in Calais, Maine and St. Stephen, New Brunswick.
A private committal will be held at a later date.
