Six teams chase Ganong tournament banner this weekend at SSHS

St. Stephen – The 42nd Annual Ganong Invitational basketball tournament action is coming to the St. Stephen High School this weekend, hosted by the St. Stephen Spartans varsity boys team.

The tournament will host two divisions – the Al Casey division, with the Spartans, Harvey Lakers, and École Sainte-Anne; and the Duncan McGeachy division, with the Fundy Mariners (looking to defend last year’s title), McAdam Warriors, and Calais Blue Devils.

Preliminary play will begin Friday, and conclude with an early morning game Saturday. Crossovers will begin Saturday morning, to be followed by the final at 5 p.m.

10:15 a.m. – Skills Competition

11:30 a.m. – No.2 Al Casey vs. No. 1 Duncan McGeachy  (Semifinal)

1:30 p.m. – No. 2 Duncan McGeachy vs. No. 1 Al Casey   (Semifinal)

3:15 p.m. – 5th Place Game

5 p.m. – Championship Final

6:45 p.m. – Awards/Closing Ceremony
