Wallace “Wally” Leroy Smith passed away after a brief illness, Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB. Wally was predeceased by the love of his life, June Smith, on January 19, 2015. Born June 18, 1942, he was a son of the late Walter Smith and Maude (Smith) Fraser. He spoke about how lucky he was to have been married to the love of his life for over 50 years. Wally was known for his passion and knowledge of sports. He was a very loyal Patriots, Red Sox and Boston Bruins fan. During the Super Bowl on Sunday, family and friends will be cheering for the Patriots in his honor. He is survived by his children: Pam (Larry) Babcock of St. Stephen, NB, Mark (Sylvie) Smith of McAdam, NB, Krista (Steve) Pardek of Vancouver, BC; daughter-in-law, Bridget Smith of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Amber, Shay, Brandon, Joey and Melan; special friend and son of choice, Chris Swain; siblings: Ronald (Diane) Smith of Rosehill, NB, Janice (Aubrey) Delong of Canterbury, NB, David (Carol) Smith of Edmonton, AB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his stepfather, Charles Fraser. There will be no funeral service or visitation held.
