Twelve-year-old Emelia Cooper is a hockey player and a huge fan of Canada’s favourite sport so she is thrilled that her home town is in the running to win the Kraft Hockeyville/CBC contest.

Outdoor skating in St. Stephen is very unlikely this year.
“It doesn’t look like it’s going to get done this year,” said the town’s Recreation Director, Mike O’Connell. “For us it comes down to manpower and having the time to do it.”

Senior hockey was clearly missed in St. Stephen.
Minutes before the Saturday night game, one in a series of exhibition games between the Black Harbour Silverkings and the St. Stephen Seahawks, the crowd was still lined up across the front of Border Area Community Arena.
