It is with great sadness that the family of John Clifford Trainor announces his passing, which occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital on Friday, April 27, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, on January 11, 1932, he was the son of the late Ada (Foley) and Dr. John Clifford Trainor.
He is survived by his loving family, including partner Gerry McShane; children, Marcia (Gary) Crossman of Hampton, NB, Kathy (Rob) Mann of St. Stephen, NB. and John (Traci) Trainor of Island View, NB; brother, Royden (Mary) Trainor of Port Hawkesbury, NS; grandchildren, Paul, Peter (Tamara) Dunphy and Mitchel Mann, Katie (Owen) Brinson, Patrick and Gregory (Regina Harty) Crossman; great-grandchildren, Carter and Max Brinson, Hudson and Ellie Crossman, Cole, Petie Dunphy, Mike and Cody Tucker. John had several nieces, nephews and many friends in the community.
He enjoyed life and his family was very important to him. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Joan (Myrshall) Trainor, sister Marcia Trainor and brother James Patrick Trainor.
John was the founder of Trainor Surveys, Past President and Life Member of Association of New Brunswick Land Surveyors, Past President St. Stephen-Milltown Rotary Club, Recipient of several Paul Harris Awards.
The family would like to thank the staff at Charlotte County Hospital for their compassionate care for John during his brief stay.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Holy Rosary Church, Union Street, St. Stephen, NB on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. Visitation was held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 2-6 p.m.
