Two critically injured in early Friday morning crash in Lynnfield

St. Stephen – Two people were critically injured Friday morning in a motor vehicle crash which saw a truck leave the road and strike a tree in Lynnfield.

A spokesperson for the RCMP said four people – two men and two women – were in the truck as it travelled along Lynnfield Road at approximately 1:15 a.m.

One of the men and one of the women were critically injured and transported to the Saint John Regional Hospital. The other man and woman were treated at the scene.

St. Stephen Fire Chief Jeff Richardson said firefighters were called to the scene of the crash and used the Jaws of Life to extricate the driver of the truck.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist was called to the scene and the investigation into the cause is ongoing.
