At the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Friday, December 28, 2017, Brian Van Hyum, husband of Beverley (Gibbons) Van Hyum of Crocker Hill, NB. Born in Mississauga, ON; he is the son of the late John and Dorothy Van Hyum. After moving to St. Stephen in the ‘80’s, Brian worked for Arauco (Flakeboard) for seven years. Brian left Flakeboard to enter the trucking industry which he had wanted to pursue for a long time. Locally Brian worked for the late David Getchell, R.E.M. and Evan Goodine Trucking. He was an owner operator for Big Wheels for many years as well. Brian became disabled in 2012 and retired. Surviving, in addition to his wife Beverley, are his stepson, Jonathan Mogard of St. Stephen, NB as well as brother- and sisters-in-law, nieces and a nephew, as well as a great-niece. Brian cherished each and every one of them as they did him. By Brian’s request, a cremation will take place. Friends are welcome to attend a celebration of his life with a light reception, to be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB (506)466-3110.
