Gordon Gerald Weatherby, Sr., born October 24, 1938 at Oak Bay, New Brunswick and passed away on December 27, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton, ON in his 80th year. Gordon is predeceased by his parents, James and Violet (nee Kelly) Weatherby, and by his wife, Ada (nee Waring) Weatherby; by his daughter, Sarah Jane Weatherby. Survived by his son, Gordon Weatherby, Jr. of Alberton, P.E.I. Also survived by grandsons, Rob Weatherby of Dorn Ridge, N.B., Stephen Weatherby of Charlottetown, PEI and his fiancée Larissa Rose of Souris, PEI, Timothy Weatherby of Dorn Ridge, N.B., and great-granddaughters Nevaeh and Misty Weatherby of Burtts Corner, N.B. Also survived by his brother, Marvin (Viona) Weatherby of St. Stephen, N.B; by nieces, nephews and other family. Gordon spent two years in the Canadian Air Force and spent the rest of this working career as a long haul truck driver. Gordon recently celebrated 40 years of sobriety with the Rock Chapel Alcoholics Anonymous group. Gordon’s family received friends at the LG WALLACE Funeral Home on Saturday, December 30 from 9:30 – 11 a.m. A Memorial Service was held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Mr. Scott Jacobson of Mountainview Christian Church officiating. Donations in Gordon’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Maritime Christian College (mccpei.com/support-mcc/) There will be a burial of Gordons ashes in the spring in New Brunswick.
