WILCOX, Hiram “Fay” Leroy

The passing of Hiram “Fay” Leroy Wilcox, husband of Mary (Gowan) Wilcox of St. Stephen, NB, occurred on December 5, 2017 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB. Born in Digdeguash, NB on May 22, 1929, he was a son of the late Hiram Sr. and Nellie (Cooke) Wilcox. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by two sons, Daniel (Shirley) Wilcox of Lindsay, ON and Dwayne (Tamara) Wilcox of Oshawa, ON; one daughter, Kimberley Wilcox of Oshawa, ON; grandchildren, Ashley, Noelle, Joshua, Clinton and Travis; great-grandchildren, Riley and Ethan; one brother, Carson (Bert) Cooke of St. George, NB; one sister, Isabelle (Bill) Mauser of Mississauga, ON, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Fay was predeceased by one daughter in infancy, Ardith Gail, and brothers, Vance and Clark. Prior to retirement, Fay worked for the Oshawa Car Assembly Plant in Oshawa, ON. He was a man of simple pleasures who enjoyed making quilts and spending time at the cottage. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family. Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB. Resting at the funeral home with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 2 p.m., with Rev. Mary Ann Langmaid officiating, followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Fay’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
