CHARLOTTE COUNTY/GRAND MANAN – Environment Canada has issued another heat warning for Grand Manan and Charlotte County for Tuesday, June 8. Temperatures are expected to reach 33 degrees Celsius, with a humidex of 36 to 41.
In extreme temperatures, it’s important to never leave children or pets inside a vehicle as interior temperatures can far exceed outside temperatures. The temperatures reached inside a locked vehicle can be lethal for those inside.
Check on older family members, friends and neighbours to ensure they are cool and hydrated.
Try and stay out of the heat through the day, and remain hydrated.
Heat warnings are issued when temperatures reach a level which poses risks of heat related illnesses such as heat stroke and/or heat exhaustion.
