JONES, Steven Paul

In fond memory of Steven Paul Jones;

  “Lives are like rivers, eventually they go where they must. Not where we want them to.” Richard Russo

  Steve, a summer visitor to Deer Island and a native of California, was born on November 27, 1947. He was the son of Woodene (Bud) and Dorothy (Doughty) Jones of San Jose, California, who have predeceased his passing. He was an avid fisherman, gun enthusiast, artist, and above all – funny. He was indeed unique and followed his own drummer.

  He is survived by his brother, Dr. Randy(Molly) Jones of California and his sister, Dr. Patty (Chris) Pendleton of Deer Island; niece Kate (Braxton) Roam of Washington DC, Jane (RJ) Delnicki of Portland, Oregon, niece Dr. Sunny (Brent) Garvey and nephew Dr. Greg (Bekah) Jones of California.

  Steve passed away suddenly on January 15, 2020, at his home in Reno, Nevada. He was proud of his military service in Vietnam, and his many years as a machinist in the submarine division of Westinghouse Industries in San Jose, California.

  He took the path least taken and, although greatly missed, his family does hope he has arrived at his desired destination.
