KERNIGHAN, Fern Mildred – Fern M. Kernighan, of the Jordan Life Care Centre, The Glades and formerly of Jabez Lane, Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, August 30, 2021.
Born in Black’s Harbour, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Myrtle (Brown) Murray. Fern was a retired employee of the Bank of Nova Scotia with 28 years’ service.
Fern will be sadly missed by her daughters, Elizabeth “Betty” Campbell and Dorothy Wright; grandchildren, Debbie, Randy, Ryan and Dawn; great-grandchildren, Allison, Tréy, Ryan, Isaiah, Logan, Alaina, Gavin and Brittany; great-great-grandchildren, Elliott and Lily; brothers, Lester Murray and Richard Murray (Barbra), as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edmund A. Kernighan (May 1978); grandson, Stephen Campbell (February 2009); great-granddaughter, Anna Wright; sons-in-law, Gerald Campbell and Ray Wright; sisters, Frances, Phyllis, Mary, Maude, Marla, Marguerite and Myrna; brothers, Daniel and William.
In keeping with Fern’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours or funeral service. Interment will take place in St. George Rural Cemetery.
