I went this week to Calais, Me., and noted the price of gas. I then did the calculation of the price in Calais and the price in St. Stephen, changed it all into Canadian dollars and accounted for the difference of litres to U.S. gallons.
The result? I am never going to buy gas in Canada again!
There is a 55-cent difference per litre! My SUV takes about 90 litres for a complete fill-up. That is $49.50 in Canadian dollars I save on a fill-up by crossing the border. Here in the Maritime we have a three-year pause on the most recent Liberal carbon tax! Fifty dollars on a fill-up is a lot of groceries.
