Ella passed away at Marochel Manor in Ottawa on July 9, 2018,  just short of her 95th birthday. She was born in St. Stephen on July 18, 1923, to Albert “Bert” and Mildred (Pierce) Denyer.

Ella attended school in St. Stephen, graduating from St. Stephen High School in 1940, then attending Business College. Ella met a dashing Welsh RAF serviceman stationed at Pennfield airbase. Ella became a Canadian war bride marrying Clifford David “Taffy” Lewis in 1943. Taffy died tragically in 1952 in a road construction accident at age 29 leaving Ella to raise their 2 girls as a single Mom. She was also predeceased by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Albert (Abbot) White as well as numerous of Taffy’s siblings.

Ella was a loving and selfless mother to Terry (Don) Bolduc, Ottawa, ON. and Linda (Bob) Guest, Regina, SK, a loving grand- and great- grandmother to Rob and his two daughters, Sofhia and Chloe, Delta, BC. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in the UK.

Ella enjoyed her role as a mother, homemaker and caregiver to all her family. She loved to cook, read and spend time with her family. She truly enjoyed socializing with her friends, going out to lunches, church suppers and concerts. In her later years she enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and the UK with her family. Ella was a faithful and active member of St. David’s and Christ Church Anglican churches.

A service will be held at St. David’s Anglican Church, 390 Route 170, Bay Road, St. Stephen, on Tuesday, July 31, at 11:00 am. Reception to follow at Christ Church Anglican parish hall, 30 Prince William Street., with interment of ashes at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery following the reception.
