Saint Andrews -There were 553 visitors to the Ross Memorial Museum in October which is an increase of 47 per cent over the previous year.

Administrator Kerri Chrus, in her monthly report to town council Monday night, said 219 of these visitors were students who came to see the exhibit commemorating Charlotte County war veterans from both world wars.

She thanked Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre for its support and for the art project students took part in following their visit. She also thanked Charlotte County Archives for choosing the museum for the exhibit and their support.

It will be open until Dec. 4 from Tuesday to Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and will be open on Remembrance Day until 4:30 p.m. after the service at the Anglican Church.
Work on the annual Christmas Open House is being organized, said Chrus, and the RMM Friends foundation will be donating $1000 towards the program.

She said volunteers are still needed to help with baking, hosting and entertaining. The program starts with students coming from Charlotte County schools then it is open to the public from Dec. 1 to Dec. 4.
