St. George – Parents, guardians, grandparents and any community members who are interested in helping children cope with anxiety are invited to attend a workshop at Fundy Middle and High School Wednesday evening.
Milltown Elementary School principal Heather Bell-Williams explained that, as part of its school’s improvement planning at both the school and district level, Anglophone South School District is targeting positive mental health.
With this goal she said they are working towards bringing in guest speakers and holding parent workshops to help children to maintain positive mental health.
Guest speaker at the event Wednesday evening, which runs from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., will be Dr. Daniel Chorney, a psychologist from Halifax, who will speak on childhood and adolescent anxiety and how parents can help their children.
The event is open to people throughout the Charlotte County area and transportation is available. Seats can be reserved by calling St. Stephen Middle School at 466-7315 or St. Stephen High School at 466-7312.
