Rothesay man two-time title winner at masters tennis tournament

SAINT ANDREWS – Dave Seely of Rothesay walked away from the annual Saint Andrews Masters Tennis Tournament with two titles.

Seely claimed the men’s open singles title last weekend after defeating Fredericton’s Sebastien Dugas-Ruest, 6-2, 6-2.

In men’s doubles 45+, Seely teamed up with Timothy Griffin of Saint Andrews to defeat Mike Francis and Scott Lockhart, both of Saint John, 6-0, 6-0.

  • Women’s singles 35+: Tish Kilburn of Saint Andrews defeated Rothesay’s Brandy Williams, 6-0, 6-0
  • Women’s doubles 40+: Colette Beaulieu of Fredericton and Jen Fox of Rothesay defeated Fredericton’s Sally McAllister and Gill Butterfield of Saint Andrews, 6-4, 6-4
  • Mixed doubles 40+: Saint Andrews’ Gary Cook and Kilburn defeated Jeff Gosse and Krista McMackin, both of Miramichi, 6-1, 6-4
  • Men’s singles 50+: Gary Jessome of Quispamsis defeated Jolyn Theriault of Grande-Digue, 6-1, 6-1
  • Women’s doubles 50+: Fredericton’s Sally McAllister and Colette Beaulieu defeated Mary Ann Gallagher and Jane MacGillvray, both of Rothesay, 7-6, 6-1
  • Men’s singles 65+: Marc Blayney defeated Francis Cormier, both of Moncton, 3-6, 7-5, 10-2
  • Men’s doubles 65+: Blayney and Cormier defeated St. Stephen’s Randy Wilson and Reed Haley, 6-3, 6-2
  • Mixed doubles 65+: Richard Clark of Fredericton and Butterfield defeated Wilson and Duska Slipp of Fredericton, 6-0, 7-5
  • Men’s singles 70+: Haley defeated Paul LeClair of Fredericton, 7-6, 6-1.
