Saint Andrews – At the regular meeting of the Saint Andrews Town Council the following motions were passed:

Passed a motion to submit an application to the Municipal Capital Borrowing Board for authorization to borrow $1,498,000 for Capital Expenses.

Passed a motion to provide the Saint Andrews Cadets be provided with use of the dining room and a small storage room in the W.C. O’Neill Arena Complex at no charge for their meetings and functions.

Council passed Assistance Grants to the following organizations:

Sunbury Shores after school program – $5000

St. Andrews Arts Council – $3000

Charlotte County Archives – $4000

Charlotte County Ground Search and Rescue – $500

Passamaquoddy Legion Branch #8- $6000 (earmarked for the cenotaph project)

Turnaround Achievement Awards ASSD – $400

Dandelions of Hope – $200

Winter warmer festival – $500

Passed a motion that Paul Nopper be hired for the position of town clerk, and Chris Spear for the position of deputy clerk for the Town of Saint Andrews effective February 3, 2020

The town of Saint Andrews proclaimed February 17 to 23, 2020 to be Heritage Week and February 17, 2020 to be Heritage Day in alignment with the National Trust of Canada.

The date of the public hearing of objections for by-law no. 19-06 pertaining to the tourism accommodation levy be set for 6 p.m. on March 2, 2020 at the W.C. O’Neill arena in the theatre room.

Passed a motion allowing the Saint Andrew’s Community Players to store their sound and lights boards in the film projection booth at the W.C. O’Neill Theatre.
