Saint John man charged with luring a child

SAINT JOHN – On Thursday, Aug. 26, 33-year-ol Andrew Michael Douglas of Saint John appeared in Saint John Provincial Court via tele-remand, charged with luring a child, states an RCMP press release.

The charge comes on the heels of a N.B. RCMP Internet Child Exploitation investigation.

Douglas was charged Thursday, Aug. 5 with failure to comply with a probation order for possession of child pornography.

He will remain in custody and returns to court Thursday, Sept. 16 at 9:30 a.m.

RCMP believe Douglas was using the pseudonyms Alex McIntyre, Alex Melanson-McIntyre, Kyle Langan, Sam Mitchell, and landshields100 on social media to connect with other possible victims.

RCMP ask that anyone who may have communicated with any of the above names on social media to contact the N.B. Internet Child Exploitation Unit at 506-452-3405.
