ST. STEPHEN – Are you on the fence about who to vote for in the upcoming municipal election, or are you hoping to learn more about your mayoral candidates before casting your vote on Monday, May 10? Do you have specific questions you’d like the candidates to answer before you make up your mind about who to vote for?
COVID-19 shouldn’t disrupt your ability to hear from your mayoral candidates, learn more about their reasons for running, and how they plan to be a true leader in the community. That’s why Charlotte County Television (CHCO-TV), The Saint Croix Courier, the St. Stephen and Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Town of St. Stephen are teaming-up to bring you “St. Stephen: Meet the Mayoral Candidates Night”.
The event will be broadcast on CHCO-TV in late April (date and time TBA) and will also be posted on CHCO’s YouTube channel and Facebook pages. Former Future St. Stephen President, Richard Fulton, will moderate, and the two candidates, incumbent Mayor Allan MacEachern and Vernon Card, will have equal time to answer each question. St. Stephen Area Chamber of Commerce President Sarah Conley will provide opening and closing remarks.
Although there will not be an audience at the pre-recorded event due to COVID-19 restrictions and safety protocols, the questions the candidates will answer will come directly from residents of the community.
If you have a question for the candidates, please submit it for consideration by email no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20 to email@example.com
Questions will be compiled and selected prior to the pre-recorded event. Depending on number of questions submitted, some questions made be merged, and some may not be selected due to time limitations.
The Saint Croix Courier will also be running features over the coming weeks between now and the municipal election to offer more insight into the candidates and their positions on important local issues.
