Winter storm warning in effect for parts of Charlotte County

CHARLOTTE COUNTY – There is a winter storm warning in effect for Grand Manan and coastal Charlotte County. 

Environment Canada says to expect “hazardous conditions”, with a total snowfall of 20 to 30 centimetres, and a possibility of over 40 centimetres in the south eastern most sections of the province. 

Snowfall should begin Friday around lunchtime and continue through the evening.

Winds, which will develop through the day, are forecast to reach maximum gusts of 60 to 80 kilometres per hour in the eastern and southern regions.

The Weather Network shows snow heaviest in the St. Stephen area between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., but also shows a total snow fall in the area of 15 centimetres, with winds gusting to a maximum of 45 kilometres per hour.
